KonMari Folding Series: Overview

Folding can be one of the most intimidating parts of the KonMari process. I often hear from people learning about KonMari that they think the folding style would be too time-intensive to work into their schedule, especially for those who already hate doing laundry.

However, given enough practice, the motions become muscle memory. And soon, you are not only folding and storing clothes as fast - if not faster - than older methods, but the presentation looks a whole lot nicer! You also gain a deeper appreciation for your clothing by taking time to spread them out and fold them with care.

In my folding series I will be start in this blog, I will be showing both:

  • The standard KonMari folding method of clothing, alongside

  • My personal tips for faster folding once the basics are mastered

As a primer, I offer a timelapse I took of a typical laundry day for me. Doing two loads of laundry, I was able to fold and store everything in under 20 minutes.
